Description
Dragon's Cottage is an early 18th-century cottage featuring a brick nogged lightweight timber frame and an asbestos-cement slate roof. The building stands two storeys high and consists of two bays. Gable timbers suggest that it was originally a single storey with an attic. The small framing in the timbers is only 125 mm wide and includes passing braces. Some timbers have been removed, and certain areas have been completely rebuilt in brickwork. The cottage has a ledged and battened door set in a simple added porch, along with small flush casements that have glazing bars and gable barge boards. Inside, there are ledged and battened doors on old strap hinges, chamfered beams, exposed ceiling joists, and an old staircase with winders.
