Description
The Thatch Inn is a public house dating from the late 17th century, with various alterations and additions over time. It features a brick nogged timber frame with thatch and slate roofs. The building consists of three sections: a two-storey section, a single-storey section with an attic, and another single-storey section, each with one window bay. There are also timber-framed and brick rear wings on the west side, creating an "F" shaped plan. The structure has a stone plinth and irregular framing, with the central bay being the oldest part. The south section has timbers that are simulated in cement mortar, while the north section's timbers are mainly painted on. The building includes ledged and battened doors, as well as flush casements with single glazing bars, with a dormer window in the upper part of the centre section. Inside, there is an inglenook beam, bevelled beams, and exposed joists throughout.
