Description

The building is a shippon and stable located 10 metres north of Ivy Cottage, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brown brick in English garden wall bond, with the roof replaced in cement tiles. The structure features five boarded doors, with the left two divided and set under cambered arches. There are two hopper casements and six vents consisting of five half-brick holes positioned just above the left floor. Additionally, there are three pitching eyes with painted stone linings. The right gable end has a hopper casement with attractive patterned vents above in the loft, and there is another hopper casement in the left gable. The shippon and stable are harmoniously designed and closely spaced alongside Ivy Cottage, contributing to a visually appealing group of buildings.
