Description

This cast iron mile post, dating from around 1820, stands 600 millimeters high and has a diameter of 150 millimeters. It features a curved indication panel that forms a "T" shape with the post, topped by an acorn-shaped finial. The panel is divided into three sections by raised cast iron beads. The upper section displays the word "Cranage" in capital letters, while the south arm indicates "To Knutsford 7 miles" and the north arm states "To Holmes Chapel 1 mile."
