This is a mile post from the early 19th century, made of cast iron. It has a triangular shape with the upper part shaped in a concave curve. The mile post is inscribed with the following distances: "CASTLETON 2 MILES," "CHAPEL EN LE FRITH 8 MILES," "SHEFFIELD 14 MILES," and "HATHERSAGE 4 MILES."
