This is a milepost from the early 19th century, made of cast iron. It has a triangular shape with the upper part cut away in a concave curve. The milepost is inscribed with the following distances: CASTLETON 6 MILES, CHAPEL EN LE FRITH 5 MILES, SHEFFIELD 16 MILES, and HATHERSAGE 6 MILES.
