Description

Coppock House is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century, constructed from whitewashed English garden wall bond brick with a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features a two-cell layout with a wing at the rear. The entrance front has three bays on the ground floor, with a brick plinth that continues around the building. There is a band between the floors made up of three rows of bricks. The door is located on the right side and has a splayed head, with evidence of a former wider door to the left. To the left of the door, there are two 19th-century windows with cambered and splayed heads, each containing three-light casements. On the first floor, there are two additional three-light casement windows with lintels made of headers. The rear wing was extended in the 19th century. Inside, the ground floor rooms have ovolo-moulded end-stopped beams in the ceilings, and the stairwell features small framing and wattle and daub. The roof trusses consist of tie beams with Queen posts and arch braces that rise to collars.
