Description
Bridge Number 67 on the Macclesfield Canal is an accommodation bridge built around 1827, designed by engineer William Crosley. It is constructed from coursed sandstone blocks with ashlar dressings. The bridge features a horseshoe arch with an elliptical head, made of ashlar voussoirs, and a projecting keystone that rises to a chamfered band at deck level. The battered walls end in squared piers, and the parapet has chamfered coping. This bridge is part of a series of notable bridges and milestones that remain on the Macclesfield Canal.
