Description
Fine Peter's Farmhouse, dated 1757, is a farmhouse with an attached barn. It is constructed from watershot coursed dressed sandstone with quoins and features two parallel ridged roofs made of stone slates, complete with gable copings and kneelers on the barn. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the house occupying the left portion and a rear extension.
The house has decorative bands on two levels that continue onto the left return wall. At the junction with the barn, there is an unusual semi-circular projecting porch with a Tuscan doorcase, above which is a datestone inscribed "PME 1757," with the lower band carried around the porch. To the right of the porch is an inserted window, while to the left there is one window on each floor that interrupts the bands, along with a circular window in the gable above. The left return wall features two horizontal rectangular windows below the lower band and two first-floor windows. The rear extension includes two windows on each floor. The rear wall has a mis-shapen segmental head that indicates an old wagon entrance, along with various 19th-century windows and doors.
