Description
Bog Bank Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1756. It is constructed of thin sandstone rubble in watershot coursing, featuring a low plinth and some quoins. The roof is made of stone slates and has a double brick chimney stack at the ridge. The building has three bays aligned north-south and is two storeys tall. There is no clear front, but the south gable wall includes a door with large rectangular jambs, one window on each floor, a blocked attic opening, and above this, a square datestone with a chamfered surround and incised lettering: T : E.
On the west side, there is a blocked doorway aligned with the chimney dated 1756 at the junction of the south and centre bays, along with two large windows at ground floor and three smaller windows above. The east side features a door with large rectangular jambs and one window on each floor, but is mostly obscured by an adjoining farm building. Most windows have been replaced with top-hung casements. There is a lean-to dairy at the north end. Inside, there is a shouldered fireplace in the south bay.
