Description

A large relief plaque is set in the wall approximately 20 metres east of Waterworks Cottage, likely dating from around 1824. The relief features a seated female figure pouring water into a vessel held by a child. At the base, there is a cast iron plate with the lettering in relief: BOLTON/WATER WORKS.
