Description
7 Horrocks Fold, also known as The Old Farm, is a house located in Bolton, likely dating back to the early 17th century, with extensions and alterations made in the later 20th century. The building is constructed from roughly coursed and squared stone and features a slate roof.
The house is two storeys high and has an L-shaped plan. The main range consists of two units, with a lower wing extending from the front of the house. Both the main range and the wing have been extended. The current entrance is located in the original section of the wing and has been inserted. On the main range, there is a single mullioned window with two and three lights on each floor, positioned to the right of the wing. The rear elevation features two mullioned windows with three and four lights on each floor; the upper windows have been inserted or renewed, while the lower windows retain their original plain-chamfered mullions. Additionally, there is a small round-headed window above an inserted doorway to the right. The end wall stacks have been rebuilt, with one stack set forward of the gable line, indicating the presence of an internal inglenook. The interior has not been inspected.
