Terrace of 8 houses; No.5 at left is now part of the Manor House, West Sunniside (qv). c1840. Garden wall bond brick with painted ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roofs with brick chimneys. Each house 2 storeys and basement, 3 windows. Most have steps up to panelled doors which fold back to form reveals of doorcases of Tuscan pilasters and entablature, some with Greek key moulding on pilasters, some with palmette and anthemion frieze. No doors to Nos 11 and 12. Sashes, some renewed, have vertical glazing bars. Similar basement windows. Roofs have transverse-ridge end brick chimneys. Renewed dwarf walls and cast-iron railings.
