Description

This is a terrace of eight houses at 4-18 Preston Street, Shrewsbury, dating from the early 19th century. The houses are built of brick and have a Welsh slate roof. Each house has a double-pile plan and two storeys, with a single room per floor. The doorways are framed by moulded architraves topped with pediments; some of the original six-panelled doors have been replaced. The ground-floor windows are 12-pane sashes, and those above are 9-pane sashes. These windows are set within flat-arched surrounds made of painted stone or stucco. Brick stacks are located at the ends of the terrace.
