Description

Number 19 is a house, part of a terrace, now used as offices. It was built around 1840 and features a dwarf wall, railings, and an area cover attached to it. The building is made of painted brick with painted ashlar dressings and has a Welsh slate roof with a brick chimney. It stands two storeys high with a basement and has three windows.

The entrance has altered steps leading to a panelled door on the left, which is of Sunderland type and folds back to reveal an inner half-glazed door with a plain overlight. The doorcase is adorned with Tuscan pilasters and an entablature that has shallow dentils along the frieze. The windows have wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills, and the plain sashes have been renewed. The roof features a transverse-ridge chimney on the right.

The handrail has a ramped spiral end and part of the balustrade has been retained despite the alteration of the steps. There is a curved area cover behind spike-headed railings on a dwarf wall, situated between the balustrade and the end railings, which also has a ramped top rail.
