Description
The gates and railings in front of Number 19 are associated with a former Presbyterian chapel, which is now a business training centre. They were possibly installed around 1873, coinciding with the construction of the adjacent school. The structure features ashlar dwarf walls topped with cast and wrought-iron railings. The segmental-topped walls support spear-finialled railings that include similar dog bars. The gates, designed in the same pattern, are hung from iron piers that are arranged in a square plan. From these piers, scrolls rise to support a scrolled overthrow, which has a raised centre intended for a lamp.
