Description
Number 13 is a house, now used as offices, with attached railings, built around 1850. The structure is made of garden wall bond brick with painted ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof with dark ridge tiles and brick chimney stacks. There is a wrought-iron handrail leading to the steps. The main entrance has been moved to Borough Road, while the entrance on Foyle Street is blocked. The building has two storeys, with three windows facing Foyle Street and two on the right side facing Borough Road.
On Foyle Street, there are blind windows in the right bay, and the left bay has sashes with vertical glazing bars, all featuring wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills. The Borough Road side has a newly inserted entrance with six steps leading up to a renewed glazed central door, which has a plain overlight and is framed by engaged fluted Greek Doric columns. The windows on this side have wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills, with ground-floor sashes featuring vertical glazing bars. The first-floor windows have been renewed, with a top-hung transom light on the left and 4/4 sashes above the door, while a window on the right is blocked. The low-pitched hipped roof has ridge chimneys topped with round yellow pots. The original plain handrail remains on the steps.
