Description

The wall, piers, and railings at the east boundary of Mowbray Park in Sunderland were built around 1856. The structure features brick walls topped with ashlar coping, while the entrance piers are made of ashlar. The railings are crafted from cast iron. The piers are located approximately 5 meters southeast of the south lodge and the walls and railings extend about 100 meters north from the piers to the former railway cutting. Designed in the Gothic style, the low brick walls have chamfered coping and include an entrance to the northeast of the lodge, which has late 20th-century brick piers. The square piers southeast of the lodge feature a plinth, cornice, and pyramidal coping, and the railings are designed in a tracery-like pattern with flambeau terminals and finials.
