Description

Gate piers, walls, and railings by East Lodge date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from ashlar stone and wrought iron. The structure features four gate piers on bases, made with rusticated, vermiculated ashlar masonry, topped with cornices and banded ball finials, each adorned with a spike. The plain ashlar walls have coping and are curved in plan, supporting wrought-iron railings. The finials are designed with alternating twisted acanthus buds and spear-heads that rise from scrolls.
