Description

Wensley Hall and Corner House is a house that has been divided into two properties, dating from the early 19th century. The building is roughcast with a stone slate roof. The main section, known as Wensley Hall, is two storeys high and has three bays. It features an ashlar plinth and a central nine-panel door with an overlight, set within a Tuscan portico that has a blocking course above. On the first floor, there is a sash window with glazing bars in an ashlar surround. The outer bays have two-storey segmental bows with tripartite sash windows, also with glazing bars in ashlar surrounds, each topped with a hipped roof. There is a continuous band on the first floor and the roof is hipped, with end stacks and ridge stacks located between the first and second bays, and the second and third bays.

To the right is the lower range known as Corner House, which has two lower storeys and five bays. It features a central part-glazed door within a pedimented doorcase. The windows have slightly-chamfered stone surrounds, with 12-pane unequally-hung sashes on the ground floor and sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor. There is a shaped kneeler and ashlar coping to the right. Stacks are positioned between the second and third bays, and the fourth and fifth bays. There are also two additional bays to the right, with chamfered stone surrounds to the sash windows that have glazing bars, along with another shaped kneeler and ashlar coping to the right.
