Description
The footbridge over the railway cutting between Mowbray Park and Mowbray Extension Park was built in 1866. It is constructed of cast and wrought iron. The bridge features cast-iron piers with wrought-iron ties that support a girder deck. The balustrades include cast-iron panelled piers with intricate designs, along with wrought-iron railings topped with spikes and intermediate panels that display scrolled patterns. This footbridge connects the public Mowbray Park, which opened in 1857, with its northern extension that was added in 1866.
