Description
The piers, walls, gates, and railings located west of the former Whickham View Schools are notable features from the 20th century. They are constructed from concrete with metal bands, and include wrought iron gates and railings. The walls and piers have exposed aggregate, and there are vehicle and pedestrian entrances. There are eight round piers with low rounded tops that have a band of metal continuous with the wall, along with two additional bands near the top. The low walls that extend from the gate piers feature low rounded coping and support geometric-patterned railings, with gates of a similar design.
