Description

The piers and gates located east of the former Whickham View Schools are designed for vehicle and pedestrian entrances. They are made of concrete and feature metal bands, with wrought iron gates. There are eight round piers that have low rounded coping and bands, creating a central vehicle entrance, while the pedestrian and vehicle entrances on either side project forward. The gates and railings have a geometric pattern. The round piers display exposed aggregate and include one metal band near the base and two near the top.
