Description
94-106 Clayton Street is a group of shops and houses built around 1837, likely designed by John Wardle for Richard Grainger. The building is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features a Welsh slate roof. It stands four storeys tall and consists of 15 bays, with the right end bay forming a curved corner. The ground floor has been altered, while the upper floors contain sash windows, some of which have glazing bars, set in plain reveals. There are projecting stone sills on the second and third floors, a band at the second floor, and a prominent cornice at the top. The roof is low-pitched.
