Description
House Carpenter's Hall is a company meeting hall built between 1805 and 1812 for the Company of House Carpenters, now containing shops. The building is constructed of sandstone ashlar and features a Welsh slate roof. It has two storeys and is arranged in a 2:5:2 bay configuration, with the wings being lower and set back. The central three bays project under a pediment. The ground floor contains four shops, with flat stone lintels above the windows, most of which have renewed glazing. Each wing has projecting stone sills, and there is a sill band across the central five bays. The building also features eaves bands and gutter cornices, and the House Carpenters' arms are displayed in the pediment. The hipped roof has truncated end chimneys on the main block.
