Description
The tomb of Joseph Wilson is located about 35 metres south-west of the Jesmond Cemetery gateway in Newcastle upon Tyne. This Grade II listed broken obelisk tomb dates from around 1841 and serves as a memorial to Joseph Wilson, a composer known for popular Tyneside songs, who died in 1841. The tomb is made of sandstone ashlar and features a base that is inscribed with verse in dialect.
