Description
All Saints' Cemetery gate, walls, piers, gates, and railings were constructed in 1856 by Green. The structure is made of coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings, featuring wrought iron gates and cast iron railings. It is designed in the Gothic style, characterized by a high gable over a two-centred arch flanked by 12 shafts on each side and numerous mouldings. The gabled ends display fantastic beasts climbing down kneelers, along with head-stopped dripmoulds, buttresses, and finials. The flanking walls have high pointed coping and contain pedestrian doors set in arches. The end piers are topped with gables that feature fleur-de-lis moulding. The dwarf quadrant walls have chamfered coping, and similar walls run along the cemetery front, with four square piers on each side that have pyramidal coping. The high gates are designed in a Gothic pattern, and the railings are adorned with fleur-de-lis heads.
