Description
Nos. 21 and 23 St Thomas' Street are houses built around 1842. No. 21 is constructed in English garden wall bond, while No. 23 features English bond brickwork, both with ashlar basements and dressings, and topped with Welsh slate roofs. The buildings have a basement and two storeys, with No. 21 comprising five bays and No. 23 four bays. There are steps leading up to four-panelled doors with overlights set in pedimented raised surrounds. The ground floor sashes have architraves with glazing bars, and the first-floor sashes are topped with wedge stone lintels, complemented by a moulded sill band on the first floor. An eaves band and gutter cornice run along the top, and both houses feature ashlar and brick ashlar-corniced chimneys. The properties also have spear-headed cast iron area railings and handrails. Notably, No. 23 has later dormers added.
