Description
This is a terrace of six houses located on St. Thomas' Street, dating to around 1840. The houses are built using English bond brickwork, with an ashlar basement and ashlar dressings. The roofs are slate, except for No. 9, which has concrete tiles. The houses have a basement and two storeys, and are arranged with 17 bays in total. Nos. 3A and 7 are distinguished by curved steps with patterned cast iron handrails leading to six-panelled doors with overlights featuring glazing bars within architraves; matching doors are located to the right of each house. Giant pilasters with ashlar capitals are situated at the front of the first two houses, and flank the segmental-arched entrance to the stables behind. There are five windows to the first two houses. All windows are sash windows with wedge stone lintels and glazing bars. Projecting stone sills are present on the ground floor, with a sill band to the first floor, except for the six right bays which have aproned sills. The low-pitched roofs have brick chimneys, some with ashlar cornices.
