Description

Trinity House Number 12, originally a school and now used as offices, was built in 1753, as indicated by a plaque on the rear link to the Banqueting Hall. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a concrete tiled roof. It stands three stories tall and has five windows, plus an additional one on the top floor above an adjacent building.

The ground floor, which is partly obscured by a raised yard level, has a central double door with six beaded panels, topped by a deep elliptical hood supported by brackets. There are two ground floor windows, and the first and second floors each have five windows. The windows on the first floor are sashes with glazing bars and segmental brick heads, while those on the second floor are similar sashes under soldier course lintels. The building has two-brick-deep floor bands and brick-coped end gables on the roof, which features two tall end chimneys, one of which is stepped.

Attached to the left end of the building is a wall that encloses the yard, featuring low-chamfered coping, all painted. The wall is complemented by spear-headed railings and gates with half-height dog bars, which have urn finials and rear stays to the principals.
