Description
12 and 14 Front Street is a house and cottage that have been converted into two separate dwellings. They date from the late 18th century, with the roof raised in the 19th century. The building is constructed of sandstone rubble, featuring quoins only in the raised section. The roof is covered with concrete tiles and has flat stone gable copings, along with two end corniced ashlar chimneys and one chimney located between bays three and four. The structure is two storeys high and consists of seven irregular bays. There are two boarded doors and one 20th-century door, all set beneath flat stone lintels. The windows are primarily three-light Yorkshire sashes, some of which have been replaced, and are also positioned under similar lintels, with narrow projecting sills.
