Description

Claphow Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse, accompanied by a mid to late 19th-century farm cottage. Both buildings are constructed from dressed sandstone and feature clay pantile roofs with stone ridges, gable copings, and end stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three windows on its north-west front. It includes a central doorway with a mid-20th-century door and overlight, and 16-pane sash windows with stone sills. Two of the first-floor sashes on the left side have been renewed. The adjoining two-storey cottage has one 16-pane sash window on each floor, and a late 19th-century sash window is located to the right on the ground floor, with access from the left return. There is a boarded garret light in the right return and a renewed round-headed stair window at the rear. Inside, the farmhouse features a dogleg staircase with stick balusters.
