Description
The standing stone known as Six Stoups is located approximately 340 centimeters south-west of Ridge Farmhouse. It is one of five remaining standing stones from the post-medieval period. The stone is made of roughly-dressed limestone and has a shaft that is broken off at the upper part, leaving it approximately 25 centimeters wide, 40 centimeters deep, and 50 centimeters high. These stones collectively mark the end of the moor plateau road and the approach to Birk Brow bank.
