Description

Low House Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1840, with a late 19th-century porch. The building is constructed of stone that has been rendered and scored to resemble ashlar, while the porch is made of rendered brick. It has a mid-20th-century concrete tiled roof and features dressed sandstone and Welsh slate on the rear wing and extensions. The farmhouse is two storeys high with three bays on the garden front, which faces southeast. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with an overlight that includes Gothick glazing bars. There are 16-pane sash windows with painted sills and wedge lintels. The stone gable copings, moulded kneelers, and corniced end stacks add to the architectural detail. The gabled porch contains a sash window and six-panelled doors on the returns. The rear service wings and extensions maintain a similar style. Inside, the ground floor features six-panelled doors and architraves, panelled window shutters, and a staircase with turned balusters and newels. An elliptical arch leads to the stair passage. The farm outbuildings located to the northwest are not of interest.
