Description
Vearse Farm is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century. It features brick walls, some of which are rendered, and has a slate roof with asbestos slate and stone gable copings. There are brick stacks at both the left and right gables. The building has a single depth plan with a continuous outshut to the north and a later rear wing. It is two storeys high and has three windows, which are sashes with glazing bars and stone cills. The front door is centrally located and has panelled reveals, topped with a semi-circular fanlight that also has glazing bars. The porch is made of wooden trelliswork and has a half pyramid concave metal canopy. The front door is made of wood and features 12 panels in three sizes, dating from the 20th century. The rear door of the continuous outshut aligns with the front door on the south side, accessible via a corridor.
To the north, there is an attached wing with stone walls and brick walls above, which serves to heighten the structure. This wing is also two storeys high and has four windows with gauged brick arch-heads and projecting keys. The windows are wooden casements with two and three lights, and two of the windows retain their original leaded lights.
