Description

Avalon, built in 1836-1837 by John Knight of Lyme Regis, is a Grade II listed building located on the north side of West Allington. The structure is finished in stucco and features a low pitch hipped slate roof with wide eaves that include glazing bars. On the first floor, there are two sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor showcases late 19th-century ashlar bays. Nos 46-52 appear to have been part of the same development, similar to Nos 2-10 (even) East Road and Nos 48-56 (even) West Bay Road. Avalon is grouped with No 42, the Magdalen Almshouses, and Nos 46 to 52 (even).
