Description
Allington Lodge, probably built in 1836 or 1837, is a stucco building, likely designed by John Knight of Lyme Regis. It has a low-pitched slate roof with wide eaves supported by brackets. The windows are arranged in two ranges of sash windows with glazing bars. A porch features trellis work, a tent roof, and scalloped cresting. Allington Lodge was likely part of a larger development, related to numbers 2 to 10 (even) on East Road, and numbers 48 to 56 (even) on West Bay Road. It forms a group with numbers 42, Magdalen Almshouses and numbers 46 to 52 (even) on West Allington.
