Description

Brelston Court is a farmhouse that likely dates from around 1750, with some later alterations. It is constructed of rendered sandstone rubble and sandstone ashlar, topped with Welsh slate roofs and a ridge stack featuring brick shafts. The building has a rectangular plan oriented north-east to south-west, with a cellar, two storeys, and attics.

The south-east elevation is rendered and features five windows with glazing bar sashes. There are three hipped dormers, each with 2-light casements, and two glazing bar sashes located to the right of a central hipped porch. The porch has an entrance on the right side and two oculi, one on the front and another on the left side. A ledged mid-19th century door is found within the porch. To the left, there is a segmentally headed entry to the cellar. Attached to the right is a lower section with one window, featuring segmental openings and one glazing bar sash on each floor, with an entrance on the left side. There is also a mid-19th century extension to the right of this section.

The rear elevation facing the garden is made of sandstone ashlar in the main part and includes two hipped dormers under a catslide roof, positioned on either side of a small pediment with an oculus. The ground floor has 2-light casements from the late 18th to early 19th century on either side of a ledged door that combines elements from the 18th and 19th centuries. The lower parts on the left show exposed sandstone rubble. Inside, the farmhouse features flagged stone floors and a 3-centred 18th century archway located behind the rear entry to the main range.
