Description
Clappers Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a combination of timber framing and brick, topped with an old tiled gable roof. The building has a T-plan layout with two framed bays on each side and stands two storeys high with attics. A chimney is located on the ridge near the center of the roof.
The entrance front includes a plinth and a plat band made of dark headers, brick window sills, and a carved and moulded bargeboard. The timber framing in the gable is rendered over. The windows consist of 19th-century small pane casements, with those on the ground floor set under elliptical arches, while the gable features two-light windows, and the first floor has 20th-century windows. To the right of the gable, there is a 19th-century panelled entrance door, which is sheltered by a gabled porch with diamond trellis sides. The timber frame is exposed at the rear and internally, showcasing a queen post roof.
