Description

This milestone, located 40 metres north of the crossroads on the east side of Wallington Demesne along the B6342, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of stone and was originally painted red, though it has since been painted white. The milestone has a quadrant section and stands 0.75 metres high. It indicates distances to Newcastle, which is 20 miles away, and to Cambo, which is half a mile away.
