Description
The Old Byre is an outbuilding located north-west of No. 9 on Front Row, Cambo. It is a former byre that now serves as an annex to a house. The building has an 18th-century appearance, although it is said to date back to the 16th century. It is constructed of squared stone in irregular courses, with cut quoins and dressings, and features a stone slate roof. The south elevation has one storey and two bays, with a boarded door in a chamfered surround and a similar doorway to the right that is now blocked. On the right return, there is a former cart entrance with a timber lintel, which is also blocked, and a 20th-century window has been inserted. The building is included for its group value.
