Description
Calverley Cottage and The Vicarage are a pair of houses located in Wallington Demesne, Cambo. The western house was built in the early 19th century and was heightened around 1880, while the eastern house was constructed as a Vicarage around the same time. Both houses are made of squared tooled stone and have slate roofs.
They are two storeys high and consist of seven bays. The third bay features a boarded door with an overlight set in a chamfered surround, along with an early 20th-century wooden porch that has a latticed pointed fanlight in the sixth bay. The windows are primarily late 19th-century sashes, except for the twelve-pane sashes found on the ground floor of the first and second bays. All first-floor windows are located in gabled half-dormers with overlapped slab coping. The right gable has moulded kneelers and similar coping. There are two stepped and corniced stacks on the ridge and one at the right end.
The houses are listed for their group value with Pele House. An extension at the right rear is not of interest.
