Description
Forge House is a 18th-century smithy that was altered with a north range built around 1880. The building is constructed of squared stone with tooled dressings, while the north range features tooled stone with rock-faced dressings and has a slate roof. It has an L-plan layout. The south elevation consists of two parts: the left section is one storey with two bays and Yorkshire sash windows, while the taller right section is also one storey and includes three blacksmith's windows in the right part of the facade, with the central window set in an old chamfered doorway. The gables have moulded kneelers and overlapped slab coping, and there are stepped and corniced ridges with stacks at the right end. The north range is set back to the right and features a lower bay at the far right, with similar gables and a ridge stack.
