Description

This is a milestone built into a roadside wall in Wall Village, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of sandstone and is painted black on a white background. The milestone has a quadrant plan with a domed top and features inscriptions indicating distances: "RB" for Rothbury at 27 miles and "H" for Hexham. The overall height of the milestone is 0.50 metre.
