Description

22 to 26 Bailiffgate is an early 19th-century building consisting of two storeys. The structure features two windows for each unit, except for No 26, the former Red Lion Public House, which has three windows. The fronts are made of ashlar stone, and there is a cill string below the first-floor windows of Nos 22 and 24. The building has a chamfered eaves band beneath a slate roof, with one brick chimney, one stone chimney, and one rendered chimney. The first floor of Nos 22 and 24 has glazing bar sash windows, while No 24 has a paired plate glass sash. No 22 includes a later 19th-century shop window linked to a doorway by a common fascia. The ground floor of No 24 has been altered, and there is a plain doorway leading to Scott's Yard at the rear of Nos 22 and 24. Nos 24 and 26 feature six-panel doors.
