This drinking fountain, likely dating from the late 18th century, is made of squared stone. The tap is set in a semicircular recess that features a round-arched head beneath a pediment. The pediment encloses a panel with the initials I.H. There is a plain sunk panel at the rear, and the fountain has a gabled top. It is located in front of No. 4 and The Cottage on Shield Street in Allendale Town.
