Description

Hallgarth is a house dated 1829, situated off Allendale Town in Allendale. It is constructed of squared stone with rusticated ashlar quoins and dressings to the front, and has a hipped slate roof with stepped and corniced ashlar end stacks. The building is symmetrical, with two storeys and three bays. A sill band runs along the first floor. The central entrance features a 6-panel door with a fanlight containing radial glazing, all set beneath a basket-arched head within a rusticated surround and dated keystone. It has twelve-pane sash windows, with the central first-floor window blocked. Later additions have been made to the rear of the property.
