Description

The farm buildings at Hillhead Farm consist of a barn and gingang, along with attached shelter sheds, byres, and a stable. They date from the late 18th century or early 19th century and are constructed of dressed stone with ashlar dressings, topped with Welsh and stone slate roofs. The buildings form three uneven ranges around a stockyard.

On the left side, there is a two-storey, four-bay shelter shed with a granary above on the left. This section features four segmental arches and small windows above, with a stone-slate roof and reverse-stepped gables. Next to this is the barn, which has two boarded doors and one 12-pane sash window. The circular gingang at the rear has square piers and a conical roof.

The rear range and a short range to the right serve as byres and a stable, featuring boarded doors and half-slatted windows set in slightly-chamfered alternating-block surrounds. The roofs are gabled with flat coping.
