Description

West Lodge to Capheaton Hall is a lodge built in the late 18th century, likely designed by William Newton. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a graduated Lakeland slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and is a single storey with three bays, including a slightly projecting left bay. There is a 20th-century door located in the re-entrant angle, and the windows are nine-pane designs set within architraves. The roof is hipped and has corniced ridge stacks.
