Description
West Lake View and The Old School is a former school and attached cottage, now divided into two cottages, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The older part is constructed of random rubble, while the later section features ashlar stone. Both sections are topped with Welsh slate roofs.
The older single-storey section on the right has eight bays and includes two early 19th-century, two-light mullioned windows with hoodmoulds, three early 19th-century windows with chamfered surrounds, and three 20th-century windows. It has a steeply-pitched roof with reverse-stepped gables and two ridge stacks.
The higher section to the left is one and a half storeys with two bays, featuring 20th-century casement windows and half-dormers. It has a gabled roof with an end stack and doors located at the rear.
This building is included for its group value.
